On a cold December morning back in the 1980 was born a child when the dawn cracked red and the birds chirped. This happened int he southern tip of the Indian subcontinent well adjacent to the Arabian sea. A place which is home to many educational institutes and banks. A lethal combination of learning and money. Money which flew from the Arab lands and deep into the rubbery roots of Kerala, Gods own country.
Upon birth, keeping aside the medical complications, the child stayed with his mother at a green patch which indeed had a name which translated into "forest in a creek"...Thuruthicadu...Turuth meaning creek and Kaadu translates to Forest in Malayalam which the local language of Kerala.
Thuruthicadu is a peaceful little village in the Kallooppara panchayat in Mallappally taluk and comes under Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. It is situated 3 km from Mallappally and 3 km from Vennikulam. The nearest Indian Railways station is at Tiruvalla (13 km) and the nearest International airports are at Nedumbassery 110 km and Thiruvananthapuram 130 km.
If you want to escape from the hustle of city life and experience what a true village looks like...drive in...the nearest hotel is in mallapally town so make sure you grab on some thing to snack upon before you start driving in π
The village is situated on the banks of Manimala river.
